What's new?

The Gliding Club of Victoria has created a shiny new web site. There are many new features including news and a calendar, visits and flights, existing roster and bookings, members information, documentation and lots more.

Where is it?

You can find the new site at www.glidingclub.org.au. The old address www.gliding-benalla.org will redirect to the new site, so you can use either.

What's available?

The web site has two purposes: to provide information to visitors; and to provide extra features to members. Public services include:

Logging in

To access the members' area you will need to log in with your GCV Member ID - this is printed on your Membership Card. You will also need to user your birthday as your password. Then you can log in by clicking on the Members' area.

You will then have access to the following extra features, informations and tools:

  • Members' Lounge contains a summary
  • Edit your own contact information
  • Search for other members' information - e.g. phone and email
  • Visit - record when you are planning on visiting, see other members' visits, and share lifts, plan tugs, flights and more
  • Flight - record your flight(s) for the day to encourage others to come to Benalla
  • Duty Roster - see when you are on duty, or who is on this weekend
  • TIF Booking - view TIF bookings
  • Duty Report - view bookings, calendar, planned visits, roster and member list - useful for the Duty Pilot to print
  • Todo List - an open todo list for members which allows anyone to add or complete a job
  • Members' Documentation - flight, safety, instructor information and more

In addition to normal member access, there is a special set of admin users who can create calendar, news, roster and booking entries. If there is a change that you need to any of these areas and you do not have access, please contact gliding@benalla.net.au or ring the office - see the contact page. Security

Please be reassured that your private information is protected on this site and is only available to other members who log in.

The future

The future of this web site includes:

  • A complete history of the club, including photos, old issues of Airflow and more
  • Improvements to usability, making it even easier for members to add data
  • The ability to upload your flight logs
  • A members' gallery, where you can upload your own photos
  • Make payments and voucher purchases online
  • A brand new style.
